Bucket from Post-
Consumer recyclate.

A practical example: Düngereimer für green partner international GmbH & Co. KG.

Use of POST-CONSUMER-MATERIAL (PCR).

The company gpi green partner international GmbH & Co. KG produces organic, mineral and organic-mineral garden fertilizers for all crops. The portfolio of the medium-sized company stands for sustainable and modern products of high quality. For this reason, regional raw materials are preferred for production. The right packaging was still missing for the particularly sustainable products in the range. High processing quality was important to the customer - the packaging had to run smoothly through the machines, be easy to label and be perfectly stackable.

Lawn fertilizer bucket made from post-consumer recyclate

This sustainable packaging is available in several sizes as buckets or trays. The plastic in this universal packaging is made from post-consumer recyclate. These recyclates are obtained from packaging waste from dual systems, among other things. Buckets and trays consist of at least 90% post-consumer recyclate.

After use, the bucket can be disposed of in the yellow bag / yellow garbage can. As the packaging is maximally recyclable, the material cycle is closed and post-consumer recyclate can be produced from the disposed packaging, which in turn is used for the production of new plastic products.

The use of PCR recyclates reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to virgin material.

That's what an enthusiastic customer sounds like.

Real added value.

„The universal packaging fits perfectly with our sustainability strategy and creates real added value. We have noticed that the recycling claim on the buckets has a positive effect - both for our customers and for ourselves.

Roland Gehrmann, Managing Director Purchasing/Sales gpi

Flexibility in processing.

„We were in close communication with the FAMAC® office staff, who responded very flexibly to our requests and were characterized, among other things, by fast data transmission. Overall, we felt that we were in good hands as a customer with Pöppelmann FAMAC®.“

THE SPECIAL FEATURES OF our
SCREW CAP FROM PCR.

High-quality
appearance with IML

Buckets made from post-consumer recycled material with handles (capacity 1,190 and 5,900 ml). Buckets and lids decorated using in-mold labeling (IML). This high-quality finish is moisture and temperature resistant—a major advantage given the storage conditions in hardware stores and agricultural supply stores.

Maximum
recyclability

In the In-Mould-Labeling process, the container is provided with a preprinted plastic label during manufacture. The container and label are made from the same base material, which means that the packaging can be recycled without any problems.

Closed
material loop

Post-consumer recycled materials are used for the buckets, giving our recyclable single-use packaging a new lease of life. After collection, the monomaterial packaging can be turned into new recycled material, which can be used to manufacture new plastic products.

Sustainable packaging.
Added value along the
value chain.

Benefits

  • Modular system: Efficient use of pallets when using different container sizes
  • External dimensions tailored to Euro or H1 pallets: 24 containers per layer.
  • Single-material packaging: ideal for mechanical recycling (NIR detection, float-sink process).
  • Resource-saving thanks to material reductions and optimal stackability and nestability.
  • And, of course, the use of post-consumer material.

What do we mean by
future-proof packaging?

The EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) sets out the framework conditions for how packaging should be designed in the future. Unnecessary packaging and packaging waste should be reduced and reusable systems and recycling should be promoted. In our opinion, plastic packaging meets precisely these requirements, as plastic is more efficient than alternative materials.

Mainly less plastic?

Plastic is more efficient than alternative materials.

More

On the
The wrong track?

PPWR is driving deforestation and the growth of mountains of waste.

More

Minimum recyclate usage?

100% in unregulated sectors (e.g. nonfood) creates incentives for investment in mechanical recycling.

More

Design For
Recycling?

Recyclability and the use of recyclates are the basis for a functioning circular economy.
