Future Viability Through Performance

Future viability through performance: Under this guiding principle, we will soon be presenting ourselves at “K 2025” with market-ready solutions that set new standards in speed, quality, sustainability, international presence, and engineering excellence.

The internationally leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry takes place every two years in Düsseldorf – this year from October 8 to 15. Here, we will showcase a comprehensive portfolio of products from the K-TECH®, KAPSTO®, and FAMAC® divisions – including the groundbreaking development of a post-consumer recyclat (PCR) component for vehicle interiors.

Circular Performance with interior-grade PCR – genuine circular economy, also aligned with ELV

Circular Performance defines our lead in the use of recycled materials: with in-depth material expertise and advanced processes, we are bringing functional series applications to life that already meet future legal and regulatory requirements today. Time and again, this enables us to significantly increase the recycled content of a wide variety of products – without compromising on quality and functionality. The Pöppelmann K-TECH® division, developer of highly complex technical plastic components, already manufactures a series product, the add-on console made from post-consumer recycled material (PCR), whose feedstock comes from end-of-life vehicles and supports vehicle manufacturers in meeting the requirements of the planned EU End-of-Life Vehicles Regulation (ELV).

K-TECH® is now setting the next milestone with an interior-grade PCR for vehicles. This material overcomes classic PCR challenges such as fluctuating quality, odor issues, and long-term stability. The development was made possible by our in-house technology and laboratory infrastructure, which supports precise characterization and highly accurate processing of recycled materials. The innovation will celebrate its premiere exclusively at the K. A visit to the plastics specialist is therefore well worth it.

Speed Performance – fast tool manufacturing shortens time-to-market

How Speed Performance becomes a competitive advantage is demonstrated by the Pöppelmann KAPSTO® business unit, a specialist for plastic protection solutions for industrial applications. After completing the design and releasing the article data, tool manufacturing and production of the first samples from the machine takes place within just six days. This is achieved through well-thought-out, tool-optimized article designs as well as processes and production conditions conceived entirely from scratch. The key to this exceptional speed lies in the in-house Tooling Technology Center: spatial proximity and joint design enable Pöppelmann to achieve unrivaled speed.

Quality Performance – fully automated cleanroom production as a standard

At Pöppelmann, Quality Performance stands for a demanding quality management system that ensures maximum safety and traceability through modern production environments, excellent hygiene conditions, careful material selection, and comprehensive process control and documentation. For applications with the highest cleanliness requirements – such as the food industry, medical technology, and the pharmaceutical sector – the Pöppelmann FAMAC® business unit produces plastic components, assemblies, and packaging under the strictest cleanroom and GMP conditions. This also includes large-format pharmaceutical packaging for the safe transport of glass and plastic syringes. With the cleanroom expansion, processes have been fully automated.

Additional performance dimensions in focus at Pöppelmann during the K

In addition to Circular, Speed, and Quality Performance, Local Performance and Engineering Performance also make a significant contribution to our overall capabilities. With a global presence and locally embedded teams, we ensure reliable and market-oriented customer support. Decentralized production strengthens supply security and enables sustainable solutions tailored to regional requirements.

For Pöppelmann, Local Performance means special customer proximity and implementation on site. This gives our partners the assurance of regional closeness combined with global expertise.

Furthermore, Engineering Performance stands for the company’s comprehensive technical expertise – for example in the areas of lightweight construction, functional integration, and high-end applications.

“Under the motto PERFORMANCE. NOW., we are sending a clear message: future viability is created through concrete solutions that offer customers genuine added value. That is why we are consistently driving our future initiatives forward, even under challenging market conditions,” emphasizes Managing Director Matthias Lesch.
