Together with you, we are shaping the future of horticulture: we are closing the loop by transforming used plant pots and trays into new products. This enables us to conserve valuable raw materials, reduce CO₂ emissions and create sustainable cultures. The following steps show the way – from use to return to the new TEKU® solution.
Production
The recycled material produced is used for the production of new TEKU® products.
Withdrawal
After ecological and economic assessment, we organize the collection and transport of the used products.
Sorting
The products used are sorted according to plastic type and can be reused for the
production of recycled material.
Recyclate production
Used plant pots and trays are processed into recycled material by our partners.

Which products and materials can be returned?
We accept plant pots made of PP (polypropylene) and propagation trays made of PS (polystyrene) – regardless of whether they are sorted by type or in mixed batches. Returns are possible for both colored and black products.
What is the minimum quantity for a return?
A return is ideal from a full load of around 4 tonnes (approx. 23 pallets). For smaller quantities of at least 3 pallets, we will check on a case-by-case basis whether collection is both economically and ecologically viable. Our team is at your disposal and will advise you specifically on your requirements.
In which regions is the take-back system available?
We are initially offering the service in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Following a successful trial phase, we are extending the take-back system to other countries. We will, of course, keep you informed about the next steps.
How should plant pots and trays be properly prepared for return?
A rough clean is sufficient for returning the item. Residual soil and coarse dirt should be removed as far as possible. It is advisable to collect colored and black items separately. This improves material quality and supports larger quantities in the cycle. However, separate collection is not mandatory.
How should used products be packaged correctly?
The products should be packaged in a manner that is suitable for transport and secure for loading. Upon request, we can also deliver suitable pallet boxes or containers for upcoming collections when delivering new products.
Who takes care of collection and transport?
You can sit back and relax – together with our certified partners (LKR | RECYCLATE and Van Werven Plastic Recycling), we will take care of collection and transport. Of course, you can also deliver the products yourself.
Are there any costs associated with the return?
For economical quantities, our take-back system is free of charge for you. We take care of the entire organization and collection process free of charge, without any additional effort or costs for you.
