Circular economy:
Understanding, willingness to buy & perception.
Understanding, willingness to buy & perception.
Environmental and climate protection are becoming increasingly important. Circular economy and recycling are two important topics in this context. More than ever, the performance and costs of packaging production are influenced by this. But what do consumers understand by circular economy and recycling? How much should plastic packaging, such as plant pots made from recycled material from the Yellow Bag, cost? Which environmental labels and certificates do consumers trust?
In order to clarify these and other questions, the independent market research institute „konkret“ from Germany was commissioned to carry out a representative study.
The most important findings of the survey.
The results of the study made it particularly clear that recycling is also very important to consumers. Find out below about the most important findings on topics such as attitudes and understanding, preferences and willingness to buy as well as the perception of environmental labels and certificates.
Processing waste from the Yellow Bag is the "correct" form of recycling.
When asked about the different types of recycling, 65% say that packaging made from packaging waste from the Yellow Bag, which is processed by sorting, washing and remelting, is closest to their idea of recycling.
Only 12% choose packaging made from processed industrial production waste.
