Doing good twice over with plant pots: how the PÖPPELMANN blue® initiative conserves resources
Lohne, July 2019 – Pöppelmann TEKU®, specialist in plastic products for commercial horticulture, conserves resources with its plant pots. Products made entirely from recycled materials aim to close the material cycle. At spoga+gafa 2019, the company will be presenting its expanded product range.
PÖPPELMANN blue® environmental initiative: great – both outside and inside
Whether sensitive garden herbs or colourful flowers – the world looks more beautiful with plants. This will once again be impressively demonstrated at the world's largest garden trade fair, spoga+gafa, in Cologne. The plastics manufacturer Pöppelmann shows that it's not just the content that counts when it comes to flowers, but also the packaging. The family business from Lohne presents the products of its TEKU division and proves how environmental awareness is close to its heart. The company-wide PÖPPELMANN blue® initiative puts the recycling concept at the forefront and attaches special importance to a continuous recycling economy. In concrete words: Plant pots in the "Recycling Blue" colour are made from pure post-consumer recycled material originating from the collection of recyclables conducted by "Der grüne Punkt - Duales System Deutschland". And this is exactly where the products should land again after fulfilling their mission of bringing plants to consumer households.
Conserving fossil raw materials
Since the initiative was launched last year, demand has been high. The product range has therefore been continuously expanded and now includes several sizes of round pots. Besides TEKU® products, even other Pöppelmann divisions are expanding their range of products made of PCR material. The use of recycled plastics is intended to conserve fossil raw materials and close the material cycle.
Pöppelmann TEKU® will present its product portfolio from 1 to 3 September in passage Hall 4/Hall 5, Booth A008/B009 at the spoga+gafa in Cologne.
