Rapid prototyping

Rapid prototyping – the faster route to series maturity.

From idea to model. Rapid Prototyping allows Pöppelmann to create individual testing samples in different materials, even in early development stages. Ideas and developments are therefore fast and cheap to implement (and conceive).

We have been working with rapid prototyping in our organisation for many years now (stereo lithography (SLS), selective laser sintering (SLA), 3D printing). When we receive a request for a product, we do not merely devise a drawing for it. Rather, we produce a part that the customer can grasp, feel and test within a few hours. We create it on our 3D printers. These printers can even print different materials, both hard and soft. They create prototypes that come very close to the final part. So close that the customer can test its functions under realistic conditions. The customer can therefore tell immediately whether the part works, if it meets his expectations, which issues have to be addressed and how that should be approached. Through rapid prototyping we show how an idea can be brought into practice in the shortest possible time.

The advantages of Rapid Prototyping at a glance:

  • Effective. From idea to model.
  • Versatile. Design, functional and installation prototypes made of a variety of materials.
  • Flexible. 1K and 2K applications.
  • Customised. Sheer or colourful finish.
  • Economical. Models made without special tools.
  • Fast. Time and cost benefits, shorter design times.

Serial production in a shorter time

Quickly produced prototypes not only convince our customers that we take their orders seriously, but that we also really understand them. They give your idea a form in an instant. They show you whether the investment you are planning is justified. They make complex, technical connections comprehensible, even for customer representatives who are not experts in plastics. And they make it possible for the customer to go in turn to their customers with the prototypes and continue development work with them. They therefore help your product reach market maturity more quickly.
