For over 30 years we have been harmonizing ecological thinking and economic business. In this process, we utilise all opportunities to save material and use recyclable resources.
Our universal packaging is also available as a resource-saving PCR variant, which was developed within the scope of our PÖPPELMANN blue® initiative. The plastic content consists of 100% post-consumer recycled granulate from dual systems. In addition, our universal packagings are certified by the RAL standard, which ensures that they were manufactured from recyclates collected from the "Gelber Sack" or "Gelbe Tonne" recycling systems. These packagings are 100% recyclable again after they have been used.

The company gpi green partners international GmbH & Co. KG manufactures organic, mineral and organic-mineral garden fertilisers for all crops. Their portfolio stands for sustainable and modern products of high quality. Therefore, local raw materials are preferably used for the production. For the particularly sustainable products in the portfolio, the right packaging has been missing until now.
High processing quality was important to the customer. The packaging had to run through the machines without any problems and be easy to label. They also had to be perfectly stackable. Here, customer gpi benefited from the comprehensive Pöppelmann FAMAC® service, as Stephan Dalhaus, Packaging Purchasing at gpi, emphasises: "We were in close communication with the FAMAC® office staff, who reacted very flexibly to our wishes and distinguished themselves, among other things, through fast data transfer. Overall, we felt that we were in good hands as a customer of Pöppelmann FAMAC®."
As a packaging solution, the universal packaging made from post-consumer recyclate is a good choice. The sustainable packaging is available in several sizes as buckets, cups or trays. The bucket is most suitable for the fertiliser. The plastic of these universal packagings consists of post-consumer recyclate. These recyclates are produced from the packaging waste from the dual systems. All sustainable packaging consists of at least 90 % post-consumer recyclate. After use, the bucket can be disposed of in the yellow bag / bin. Since the packaging is 100% recyclable, the material cycle is closed and post-consumer recyclate can be created again from the disposed packaging, which in turn is used for the production of plastic products.
Roland Gehrmann, Managing Director Purchasing/Sales gpi, states: "The universal packaging fits perfectly with our sustainability strategy and creates real added value. We could see that the recycling label on the buckets has a positive effect - both for our customers and for ourselves."
As a plastics processing company, we see it as being our duty to make our products and processes as environmentally conscious as possible. Because plastic is an enormously valuable raw material. Nevertheless, only about half of the plastic used in packaging waste is currently reused in Germany. We want to increase this quota – together with food manufacturers and trading partners, research institutions and recycling experts. With our PÖPPELMANN blue® initiative, we do our best to achieve a closed material cycle in which the plastic used comes from one and the same stage of the value chain. More about the initiative
