In the 24th festive prize giving ceremony, which was held at the Essen Colosseum Theater on 23 June, Pöppelmann was awarded the TOP 100 seal of approval by Ranga Yogeshwar, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and compamedia. The family business was selected for its impressive climate of innovation and success in an independent selection process. For over 20 years, this competition has been the only one in Germany to judge companies and their innovation management – i.e. their sustainability – and not individual inventions. The scientific management has been in the hands of Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke since 2002. Franke is the founder and director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
When developing new plastic products and solutions, the family business relies heavily on the creativity of its employees. A large number of the approximately 2,000 male and female Pöppelmann employees across the globe regularly comes up with new ideas for improvement and innovation, many of which are implemented straight away. "Our competent and passionate team is what makes the significant difference", says Managing Director Torsten Ratzmann. Only those who recognise trends early enough and implement them in a meaningful way and to the benefit of their customers, have a chance of success. Because innovation is not an end in itself.
The employees' many years of experience and expertise, coupled with the technology leadership position of numerous customers, keep ensuring a decisive competitive edge. The customers of the plastics specialist can always expect short development times, targeted product optimisation and reliable process planning. This is how , in Lohne, cost-effective optimised solutions are created that meet the highest possible demands. Regardless of whether it is plastic protective parts, high-precision technical injection-moulded plastic components, technical functional plastic parts and packaging or horticultural products: innovations made by Pöppelmann are not products of chance but rather the result of a target-oriented process and constant improvement by great employees.
A good example is the increasing demand for lightweight plastic parts. In the past, Pöppelmann has proven its innovative power in this field on more than one occasion. Our K-TECH® business division succeeded in reducing the total weight of many products by combining different technologies and materials.
