Once a year, QIAGEN honours the 20 best suppliers from around 3600 suppliers with the award for outstanding suppliers. This is the second time that the award has been presented – last year's winner was a company from the United States. The esteemed award was presented this year to a European supplier for the first time. More precisely, it went to Lohne: to Pöppelmann FAMAC®. Criteria for the choice included performance in the areas of innovation, service, sustainability, and quality. – Fundamental aspects which distinguish a long-term successful supplier relationship. "We are naturally pleased by the renewed distinction and especially for achieving first place", says Engelbert Rechtien, Sales Manager at Pöppelmann FAMAC®. "Because the award means for us not just the achievement of a long and fair business relationship, but also rather a confirmation of our method of operation, which is always based on appreciation and mutual respect". Torsten Ratzmann (Pöppelmann Managing Director), Matthias Lesch (Pöppelmann Marketing and Sales), Engelbert Rechtien and Sebastian Hannöver (Pöppelmann Project Manager) accepted the award. It was presented by Serge Van Vooren, Vice President Purchasing at QIAGEN and Frank Jüntgen, Global Category Leader Plastics & Contract Manufacturing Global Procurement.
